After a few day’s of press photo scans, something different today.
This is a copy of the instruction booklet given to all players in 1985-86 season. I’ve cropped out a couple of small parts just in case as they contained personal phone numbers.

OMG!!! I remember now… It was called the CANNON League… 🙂 Good work again “X” have to say that PAT looks like it could be 100 years old…
“Players must also refrain from smoking during the journey to and from a match except with the permission of the manager…” Wonder how often the manager actually entertained this request and if it was ever granted. Will be nice to get Pat Rice to discuss this little book.
I know we have had smokers at the club in the ‘recent’ past, certainly in the early ’80s there were a few.
It’s fairly common knowledge here in Denmark that Nicklas Bendtner smokes cigarettes.
“I’ve cropped out a couple of small parts just in case as they contained personal phone numbers.”- riiiihght. like those would be still active,! numbnuts!
As I know two of the people there still live or have family in the same houses I think it’s very possible their numbers may only have changed in terms of code and would be easy to work out from the old codes. But thank you for taking the time to make such an insightful comment.
Very intesting to read this … seems delightfully quaintly “old school” ….. I wonder what differences there are in today’s “Rules” ?
